Description

Synopsis | At a military checkpoint, young monk Beop-woon encounters Ji-san, a wandering monk whose irreverent manner and mysterious presence unsettle him. When their paths cross again, Ji-san’s belief that the Buddha exists beyond temple walls forces Beop-woon to question the meaning of his years of practice. Drawn to this unconventional teacher, Beop-woon leaves behind the certainty of monastic life and follows him on a journey through temples, villages, and mountain roads. As the two drift between encounters with faith, desire, memory, and suffering, Beop-woon begins to discover that enlightenment may lie not in retreat from the world, but in facing its wounds directly.
