In addition, Arts East-West is actively fostering the leadership of KFFC’s second-generation team members: Annabelle Kang (Project Manager), John Nông (Marketing and Sponsorship), along with our interns.

Why 'Arts & Technologies: Sleep, Dream, Body?'

The 11th edition of KFFC 2024 starting from May 22nd to 31st is on the captivating new theme “Arts & Technologies: Sleep, Dream, Body.” KFFC is known for focusing on a theme for 2 consecutive years. Our new theme evokes the flexible boundaries between waking life and fantasy, technological advancements and collective forms of sociality represented on film, and the transformation of personal narrative into media arts and cultural works. The rapid transformation in technology and global networks of connectivity calls for a reencounter with the perceived limitations on what makes up the body, the arts, and its attendant practices. For the years 2024-2025, KFFC will explore with our public the numerous possible narratives mirroring the intersection of arts and technologies through film and media arts to reshape our understanding of the body, new perspectives, and knowledge expanded from revisiting space, time, and alternative worlds. The 11th edition of KFFC is co-hosted with the Moving Image Research Lab’s Sociability of Sleep Project at McGill University.
