Our tradition of conducting a screen printing art workshop for emerging artists took place at La Bourgeoise Sérigraphe, with renowned screen printing artist Iris Sautier on May 15th.
Our KFFC staff and new participants did the workshop the whole day, making handmade posters, tote bags, and staff shirts for the 11th KFFC 2024. Choosing the colour, design, and doing the screen printing itself got us more and more excited about the festival! #wehandmadekffc
The 11th KFFC had a 'Dreamzine' workshop with Montréal-based visual artist Jenny Lin on May 28th at Ada X, in partnership with the Moving Research Lab's Sociability of Sleep Project at McGill University. The workshop was full of people who were discussing their personal sleep and dream experiences, and making them into handmade zines!
The workshop started off with 'sleep food' served by Audrey Jiang. The food included handmade rice balls, marinated eggplant, colourful salad and delicious fruit. Hot tea and miso soup was served, which prepared everyone's creative minds for zine-making and dream-discussion.
Afterwards, Jenny Lin introduced their experimental narrative and autobiographical fiction, primarily in the form of print-based installations, artists' books and zines. Jenny conducted a demonstration of different types of handmade zines. Every attendee created their own physical zines, and participated in short writing and drawing exercises. #wehandmadekffc
