Montreal → Busan → the world! 🎬✈️

Arts East-West is participating in the 31st Busan International Film Festival (Oct 6–16, 2026)! Headed towards the ocean of cinema, for a fresh wave of films at BIFF. 

We are grateful to be invited once again. Our delegation this year includes:
🎥 Mi-Jeong Lee — Founder & Artistic Director
🎥 Arismita Ghosh — Coordinator
🎥 Stacy Jung — Assistant Programmer

We will carry our Asian-Canadian and Asian-Quebecois perspective into screenings, forums, and industry conversations, echoing Arts East-West’s mission of UNBOUND across the world. 

2026 is a big year for BIFF – now winning the Busan Award (부산 어워드), BIFF's grand prize, now qualifies a film for direct submission to the Academy Award for best international feature film. This makes BIFF the only Asian festival to have this standing. 

This year’s BIFF will feature 315 films from 59 countries. 14 of these films have been selected from the competition: all of which are created by Asian filmmakers, from Korea, Japan, China, to Iran, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Taiwan. Arts East-West is eager to discover these fresh, emerging voices of Asian cinema from around the globe.

Arts East-West participe à la 31e édition du Festival international du film de Busan (BIFF), qui se tiendra du 6 au 16 octobre 2026 !

Nous apporterons notre perspective asio-canadienne et asio-québécoise aux projections, aux forums et aux échanges professionnels, en faisant écho à la mission « UNBOUND » (sans frontières) d'Arts East-West à travers le monde.

L'édition de cette année présentera 315 films issus de 59 pays. Quatorze de ces films ont été sélectionnés pour la compétition ; ils sont tous l'œuvre de cinéastes asiatiques. Arts East-West a hâte de découvrir ces voix nouvelles et émergentes du cinéma asiatique venues des quatre coins du globe.
